THE TWINS' BLANKET WORD OF THE WEEK
Use this week's Word of the Week, BLANKET, to extend your learning:
1. Say and trace each letter of this week's word.
2. Sound out a word letter–by-letter.
3. Think of other words that rhyme with blanket. These can be real words
or made-up ones that are silly and non-sensical!

CRAFT
Children will make a Korean “SAEKDONG” Blanket!
Directions:
Each child will receive:
1 White Paper
1 Colored Paper
Handful of Colored Paper Strips
1. Glue colored strips of paper about a half-inch down along the top of the white piece of paper
2. Glue a colored paper on the white paper. Cover bottom part of strips.
Glue the bottom of the paper aligned with the line on the white paper.
3. Fold in all four edges of white paper and glue them down on top
of the colored paper and strips.
4. Use your imagination to decorate the colored paper in a design that you like.
LITERACY TIP
Being able to express yourself verbally is an important skill. Anger, frustration and sadness can cause children to act out if they don't know how to express those difficult emotions. In this book the twins have many different emotions including frustration, jealousy and fear. Talk with your children about the different emotions that the sisters portray, and how your class feels the best way to express those emotions would be.
