GLOW: ANIMALS WITH THEIR OWN NIGHT-LIGHT

Why be afraid of the dark when there is so much to see? Whether it’s used to hunt, hide, find a friend, or escape an enemy, bioluminescence—the ability to glow—is a unique adaptation in nature. In this fun and fascinating nonfiction picture book, join world-renowned photographers and biologists on their close encounters with the curious creatures that make their own light.

LITERACY TIP

Sometimes it can be tricky to get preschoolers interested in non-fiction books. If you find that the text of a book isn’t holding your student’s attention, try discussing the pictures. Ask them questions and answer any questions they have for you. This may spark their interest and give them a newfound interest in the book you are sharing, and other fact-based books as well!
