LITERACY TIP
Colors are a key way that we describe and categorize our world. When children learn about colors, it helps them to be more specific when describing an item. Talk about different colors you see in your classroom and turn it into a fun game. Ask children, can you find the YELLOW SUN or the RED TRUCK. Learning their colors and using them in conversation is a great way for children to expand their vocabulary for describing the world around them.
