Stand like a mountain – strong and tall

Knee up, (Hold count 1,2)
BOOM! (Foot falls into warrior position & hold 1,2)
Now, rise like the sun (arms up)
Fingers wide like the rays of the sun.
Smile bright like the sun
Breath in… and out like the wind!
Breathe in… now be a mountain again.

LITERACY TIP
Calling your students “readers” long before they are actually reading words and stories can make a big impression and will boost their reading confidence. Make a point to compliment emergent reading behaviors you observe. This will encourage students to make these behaviors habits.
