LITERACY TIP
Talking with children throughout the day about emotions strengthens their emotion intelligence skills. When reading books to children, label the characters' emotions and point out the facial expression and body language of the characters in books. Encourage children to talk about how they are feeling during the day in appropriate ways.
Some other books that you can use to discuss emotions
with your class include:
Worrysaurus by Rachel Bright
Lena's Shoes are Nervous by Keith Calabrese & Juana Medina
Evelyn De Rey is Moving Away by Meg Medina
Color Monster by Ana Llenas
Glad Monster, Sad Monster by Ed Emberly
