are invited on a fossil dig, set to the tune of "Here We Go 'Round the Mulberry Bush.
RHYME: ONE DINOSUAR WENT OUT TO PLAY
(Tune: Five Little Ducks)
One dinosaur went out to play.
In a giant swamp one day.
She had such enormous fun,
That she called for another dinosaur to come:
Ohhhhhhh, Diiiiinosaur!
Repeat with two dinosaurs, three dinosaurs, etc.

1. Say and trace each letter of this week's word.
2. Sound out the word letter–by-letter.
3. Think of other words that rhyme with dig. These can be real words
or made-up ones that are silly and non-sensical!
CRAFT
Make a D is for Dinosaur Craft
Materials You Receive for Each Child:
1 Yellow "D"
Dino head, tail and legs
Various dinosaur papers
1. Glue the head, tale and legs onto the D to make a dinosaur.
2. Add the different dinosaur papers onto the yellow "body" of the dinosaurs.
3. Talk about the different kinds of dinosuars that are represented.
LITERACY TIP
This storytime is a great opportunity to introduce unusual words to your preschool students.
Even young children have great ability to learn new, longer and unusual words. Here We Go Digging for Dinosaur Bones will introduce sophisticated vocabulary words like
paleontologist fossilized, and all those dinosaur names! Have your students repeat
new words and try to figure out what they mean.
