Use this week's Word of the Week, FAMILY, to extend your learning:
1. Say and trace each letter of this week's word.
2. Sound out the word letter–by-letter.
3. Think of other words that rhyme with family. These can be real words
or made-up ones that are silly and non-sensical!

CRAFT
Make a Picture Frame
Directions:
Each child will receive:
1 Popsicle Stick Frame
1 Piece of Paper
1. Decorate frame with crayons.
2. Draw a picture of you and a special person in your life, on the piece of paper.
3. Glue the drawing to the frame.
LITERACY TIP
Giving children paper and crayons, markers or pencils, even when they can only scribble is the beginning of early writing. It takes a lot of coordination to write. Scribbling and drawing
are the beginning steps to writing. Posting children's artwork throughout their
environment shows them how proud you are of their efforts.
