BOOK:
ROCKET SAYS LOOK UP!
A comet will be visible tonight, and Rocket wants everyone to see it with her--even her big brother, Jamal, whose attention is usually trained on his phone or video games. Rocket's enthusiasm brings neighbors and family together to witness a once-in-a-lifetime sighting and will inspire readers to dream big with a passion for science and infectious curiosity.
RHYME: ROCKET RHYME
(Tune of I'm a Little Teapot)
I’m a little rocket,
Tall and thin.
Here is my nose cone.
Here are my fins.
When I get all fired up,
launch begins.
Watch me rise
and see me spin!

LITERACY TIP
It’s no secret that the classroom library is a key feature of a literacy-focused classroom; this is true even when your students can’t read yet. Encourage your students to take ownership of the classroom library and the circulating book bins provided by the library and to use them often during the day, during both both structured learning and play time.
