LITERACY TIP
Sharing books that talk about how characters behave in various kinds of relationships
can help children think about their own behavior and how they interact with others. In this storytime, little Mouse is scared that Bear will take his red, ripe strawberry and reacts in
different, funny ways. Take the opportunity when you read books to your class to talk with the children and ask what they think about how the characters acted and what they might
do if they found themselves in the same situation.
Some other books about relationships that you can read with your class include:
Should I Share My Ice Cream by Mo Willems
Help! A Story of Friendship by Holly Keller
What If Everybody Did That? by Ellen Javernick
The Recess Queen by Alexis O'Neil
Five Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed by Eileen Christelow
